Try Out
Through the Try Out event, it is possible to apply to join Cetus's competitive sports groups and teams.
Try Out event is aimed at children interested in competitive sports. Through this event, it is possible to join Cetus's competitive swimming groups as well as synchronized swimming and water polo teams.
The duration of one Try Out test is 30 minutes, which includes approximately 20 minutes of testing the child's skills in the pool and 10 minutes of discussion with the parents about the most suitable group for the child.
Next Try Out event:
- Water polo Try Out event on Sunday 27th of October from 13:30 to 15:00 at Matinkylä swimming hall.
Through the above-mentioned Try Out events, it is possible to join the coaching groups and teams for the 2024-2025 season.
Registration:
Registration for the event must be done in advance on myClub. Before registering for the event, please familiarize yourself with the criteria for group admission and the group's objectives. Registration for the Try Out event opens on the Monday of the event week at 09:00am.
Swimming hall entrence fee:
The swimming hall entrance fee must be paid as usual at the pool's cashier. However, registration for the Try Out event is free of charge.
How will I be informed if my child is offered a place in a coaching group or team?
You will receive the information from the coach either verbally immediately after the Try Out event or the coach will contact you by email within a few days.
If a place is offered to the child in a coaching group or team:
We will send additional information about training in the coaching group/team, such as training times and coaching fees, by email.
The start of training in the coaching group/team is always agreed upon with the group's responsible coach or the sport's level coordinator.
In addition, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the general guidelines for athletes (available only in Finnish) to get a comprehensive understanding of training in the coaching group/team.
If a place is not offered to the child in a coaching group or team:
We recommend continuing to participate in our courses to develop the child's skills.
It is possible to apply for admission to coaching groups/teams later by participating again in the Try Out event.
