Swim Classes
We have updated the content of our small pool swimming schools to align with the new swimming education recommendations of the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation (SUH). Water competence skills are included at all swimming school levels, and Swimming School 3 also includes access to a lane in the main pool. The aim of these changes is to make the transition from the small pool to courses in the main pool easier for children.
The intensive courses in summer 2026 will still follow the current course content. However, during the summer we will organize three pilot groups for Swimming School 3. The new course contents will be fully introduced in the autumn 2026 swimming schools.
In addition to water competence skills, children will learn the basics of swimming, including floating, gliding, diving, basic swimming techniques, jumping into the pool, and pool etiquette. Instruction takes place in the teaching pool, where the water temperature is approximately 26–28.5 °C and the pool depth is 0–0.9 m. As skills develop, groups will spend increasing amounts of time practicing in the main pool as well.
At the end of the swimming school, each child will receive a certificate showing the skills learned during the course and the instructor’s recommendation for the next course level. We recommend the use of swimming goggles and encourage children to practice using them before the swimming school begins.
Our swimming instructors are certified by the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation.

Child-Parent Swimming
These classes are for children over 3 years old, who are not yet ready to participate in lessons independently. The children learn water skills in the pool assisted by a parent. Child-parent classes are a great follow-up after family swim classes.

Beginner Swimming
To participate in the course the child should already feel confident moving in the water and be able to function in a group under the guidance of the swimming instructor without parental support. The course is intended for children aged 3–6 years. We recommend that the child be at least 100 cm tall.

Swim Class 1
To participate in the course, the child should not be afraid of water and should be able and willing to go completely underwater without holding their nose. The child should also be able to function in a group, follow the swimming instructor’s guidance, and stay focused during instruction. The course is intended for children aged 4–6 years. We recommend that the child be at least 100 cm tall.

Swim Class 2
The child should be able to swim 5 meters on the front (“mole swim”) and 5 meters on the back (basic backstroke). The child should also be able to dive completely underwater without holding their nose. Participants should be able to function in a group, follow the swimming instructor’s guidance, and stay focused during instruction. The course is intended for children aged 5–8 years and older. We recommend that the child be at least 100 cm tall.

Swim Class 3
The child should be able to swim 15 meters on the front (“mole swim”) and 15 meters on the back (basic backstroke). The child should feel confident swimming in the main pool together with the instructor. Participants should be able to function in a group, follow the swimming instructor’s guidance, and stay focused during instruction. The course is intended for children aged 5–8 years and older. We recommend that the child be at least 100 cm tall.
