Swim Class 2
In Swimming School 2, children strengthen their existing swimming skills and practice a variety of exercises related to body control and breathing. The course also includes practicing dolphin dives, rotational and side glides, turning while floating, and underwater handstands. Instruction takes place mainly in the teaching pool, but participants will also become familiar with the deep pool during the course. In the full-season Swimming School 2 course, participants may also begin practicing some Swimming School 3 skills as their abilities develop.
Starting level requirements
The child should be able to swim 5 meters on the front (“mole swim”) and 5 meters on the back (basic backstroke). The child should also be able to dive completely underwater without holding their nose. Participants should be able to function in a group, follow the swimming instructor’s guidance, and stay focused during instruction. The course is intended for children aged 5–8 years and older. We recommend that the child be at least 100 cm tall.
Objectives
The child will learn to swim independently, without assistance, for 15 meters in the main pool using both the front “mole swim” and basic backstroke. In addition, the course includes various body control exercises, such as side gliding and floating with turns.
Please note: We also offer Swim Class 2 groups for children aged 7-12 years old.
