Swim Classes
In swim classes children practice basic swimming skills: floating, gliding, swimming under water, elementary swimming and jumping into the pool. Lessons are primarily held in the children's pool where the water is 26-28°C and 0-0.9 meters deep. As the children's skills develop, the group will spend more and more time in the big pool. Upon completion of the class, the children will receive a diploma, which includes a list of the skills they have learned and the instructor's recommendation for their next class. We recommend the use of goggles (and learning how to use them before the class begins).
Our instructors are trained and certified by the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation.
Child-Parent Swimming
These classes are for children over 3 years old, who are not yet ready to participate in lessons independently. The children learn water skills in the pool assisted by a parent. Child-parent classes are a great follow-up after family swim classes.
Beginner Swimming
To participate, the child is comfortable and confident in the water and able to follow instruction independently without assistance from a parent. The child is at least 100 cm tall. The class is for children aged 4 and over.
Swim Class 1
To participate, the child is comfortable in the water and able to go completely under water to blow bubbles without holding their nose. The child should be able to concentrate on and follow instruction as part of a group. The child is at least 100 cm tall. The class is for children aged 5 and over.
Swim Class 2
To participate, the child can already float, glide, swim under water and swim at least 5 meters (elementary stroke, both front and back). The class is for children aged 5 and over.
Swim Class 3
To participate, the child is able to swim elementary stroke for 15 meters (both front and back using correct breathing technique), dive to the bottom of the children's pool (depth 80-90 cm) and jump feet first into deep water. The class is for children aged 5 and over.
