Child-Parent Swimming
Children participate with a parent or another adult. Using stories and games as learning tools, the parents help the child learn basic water skills. Each 30 minute lesson takes place either in the children's pool or the therapy pool, depending on the class.
Starting level requirements
These classes are for children over 3 years old, who are not yet ready to participate in lessons independently. The children learn water skills in the pool assisted by a parent. Child-parent classes are a great follow-up after family swim classes.
Objectives
The goal is to practice swimming basics such as swimming position, breathing, flotation and the use of different aids. After a child-parent class, the child is ready to move on to Play and Splash lessons, Beginner Swimming or Swim Class 1, depending on the instructor's recommendation.
